With Halloween falling on a Saturday (which includes a full moon), I thought we should brew another Witches Brew. But with the pandemic and most of the guys having prior commitments, it looks like this might turn into a solo brew day. After thinking it over, I will stay away from a big Belgian like the previous Witches Brew and instead brew a dark, malty English-ish Porter. I will be using up mostly ingredients I have on hand. Some of the darker malts have been in storage for a while but whatever. It will be beer. The only things I had to buy was a few ounces of hops and yeast. In the spirit of the original Witches Brew, I will be tossing in 7 types of malts and 3 types of hops. Will also add some granola to the mash. Maybe a slice of pizza.
And with election day just 3 days after brew day, I will let you figure out who this beer name refers to. Thank you Marc Maron for this gem.
