Stout Tasting 2

Here are the results of our second stout tasting at Andy’s, who was so gracious to host once again. We had a delicious chili, courtesy of the Andy and Mandy. Christine and I tried our hand at a Chocolate Stout cake that was good, and way too much! Dickie made it with new friend, Dana! Alan participated in the tasting, but Charles, who continues to suffer from the cluster headaches, sat out and simply enjoyed the chili.

Notes on the beers- The sweeter stouts scored well today. in the regular stout category, and for me the best beer was 4 Hands Chocolate Milk Stout. I thought Charles’ beer would have performed better, but was from a growler and lacking bubbles. I recognized Charles’ beer when I tasted it. It was good, but the mouthfeel was off a bit because of carbonation. The 4 Hands Single Origin was by far the best, most drinkable of the Imperials.

A snow storm rolled in and we bugged out. We had a great time and we need a new style for next time! Cheers
