Grain Bill-
- 42# Pilsner malt
- 2# Munich malt
- 1# Vienna malt
- 1# Maris Otter
Hop Bill- 8 oz German Spalt 60′
Yeast- Wyeast 2565 Kölsch
Brew Schedule-
- Strike 14g @ 155F
- Mash in 145F 90′
- Mash out @ 180F w/ 10g boiling water
- 15′ recirc
- Sparge w/ 20g @ 180F
- Collect 30g wort
- Boil and add 8 oz Spalt
- 15′ add cooling cool and Irish moss
- Collect 25g in fermenter @ 70F
- OG = 1.054
- Pitch yeast from 5L starter
An easy brew day after a bit of a rocky start. Came in low on initial mash temp (142F) and then bumped too high (150F), but Tom says perfect! Lauter went well and runoff into the fermenter went smooth and clean. Sample was spot on and should be a fine Kölsch.
