20 gallons of Patersbier

Gary introduced me to the Patersbier, which I brewed last year, as described here). Now Gary’s taking the helm and brewing his unaltered version of the Patersbier.

Grain Bill- 40# Swaen Pilsner malt

Hop Bill-

  • 4 oz DE Tradition 60′
  • 2 oz Saaz 60′
  • 2 oz Saaz 10′

Yeast- Wyeast 3864 Belgian/Canadian

Mash Schedule- Single infusion 147F 60′

Calculated Stats-

  • OG = 1.052
  • FG = 1.012
  • IBU = 27
  • SRM = 3
  • ABV = 5.2%

Brew Day January 17, 2016

  • Brewers = Gary K (brewmaster), Tom, Charles, Rob, Andy
  • It was a bitter cold day with temps in the teens and sharp winds

Fermentation-

January 29, Gary reports that gravity is 1.008. He comments, “It is going to be a while before this beer clears. (I think I forgot to add the Irish moss.) But flavor wise, it is all that I had hoped for.”
